Buying and eating organic food is more expensive without a doubt, however the added expense is well worth it, especially in terms of our children, and let me explain why. The extra money spent on organic fruits, vegetables, dairy products, and meat (if you eat it) is an investment in your child's health and future. Not only will your child have less pesticides and herbicides in his/her body, which will give him/her a lower risk of getting cancer and other ailments, he/she will also have a greater chance of inheriting a planet that is healthy enough to sustain them throughout their life. Definitely a worthy payback for the investment!

Quick Dinner for One Little One - Alphabet Veggie Soup
When you're scrambling to make a meal before your toddler's dinnertime try this easy fix. I just made it, and Lilie gobbled it down like an angel, trying to say letter names as she did.
1 cup broth (or 1 cup water with bouillon)
1/2 cup Organic Foursome from Trader Joes (frozen carrots, peas, corn, and green beans)
1/3 cup alphabet egg noodle pasta
a dash or two of Braggs Liquid Aminos, if needed for taste
1) Bring 1 cup of water or broth to a boil. Add frozen veggies, alphabets, and bouillon, if using. Let simmer for about 6 minutes or until noodles and veggies are soft. Add Braggs to taste if desired.
Product:
Organic Cotton/Wool Crib Mattress
Organic Grace has designed a wonderful mattress that has served our daughter well. Its price is very close to the Naturepedic crib mattress, but I really enjoyed being able to support the smaller, kinder company, since it is clearly a business with heart and a mission. Check out their goods online or if you're in Garberville, CA, stop by the store.
