Green Playhouse
There is definitely no lack of play house options for kids these days, but when I was looking 6 months ago for a green playhouse, is was difficult to find a wooden one that was actually in my price range. I even looked for local used ones on Craigslist, but alas nothing fit the bill in my area.
My final choice ended up being KidKraft's Outdoor Playhouse, which is all wood except for the roof, the door handle, the flag on the mailbox, and the play sink inside. It was relatively easy to put together, is very sturdy, and is a wonderful affordable green option to an all plastic one. Check it out if you are thinking about getting one.
The design is also worth noting, as it has three nice inside shelves, two small and one large, and a large back window that comes with curtains and can be used as a place to have puppet shows.
For an even greener playhouse:
1. Find an already loved house to bring back to your home.
2. Build your own play house using reclaimed wood. Here's a link to some free plans.
